NHTSA Survey of Drinking and Driving Attitudes and Behaviors
- * 1% arrested for drinking and driving
* 8% of population rode with a driver who might have been drunk
* 20% (approx 86.5 million) past-month drinking-driving trips (up from 73.7 million in 2004)
* 30% had been through a sobriety checkpoint in past year
* 81% saw drinking and driving by others as a threat to their personal safety
