Not More Toyota Recalls...

Post by brian »

Feb 17, 2010: Talk about getting kicked when you're down...
the turmoil of Toyota continues...accelerator pedal/floor mat, then accelerator pedals, and then Prius brakes and now...
Corolla steering?!!
Apparently Toyota is considering a recall of the hot-selling Corolla subcompact after complaints about power steering problems.
And Toyota President Akio Toyoda has declined to attend the Us Congressional hearing aka diversionairy witchhunt. He stated he wanted to focus on improving quality worldwide.
And on the Corolla steering...there have been fewer than 100 complaints out of the nearly 1.3 million Corolla cars sold worldwide last year...so i guess Toyota is getting paranoid in light of the US DOT demand for documents related to safety recalls.
The complaints center on drivers apparently feeling that they lose control over the steering. Problems with the braking system or tires apparently are possible underlying reasons for the steering problem.
