Are LaHood & the Transportation Dept publicity crazy?!

Post by brian »

Feb 17, 2010: Feeding the frothing media more headlines to keep himself and his Department of Transportation in the slimelight while continuing to bash and trash Toyota Ray LaHood and his Transportation Department plan to open a formal investigation into the 2009-2010 Toyota Corolla over potential problems with the car's power steering, a department official said Wednesday. NHTSA has only received about 150 complaints from drivers about the issue which is quite small when compared to the number of vehicles involved: 363,000 vehicles from the 2009 model year and about 136,000 vehicles from the 2010 model year.
One has do wonder: Does NHTSA open formal investigations on ALL vehicle manufacturors who get 150 complaints?
Why NO, of course not!
And of course with ALL the bad press on Toyota, any and all problems (like causes of accidents, etc) are NOW the fault of Toyota!
COMPLAIN PEOPLE, COMPLAIN!!
Police always hear 'my brakes failed' or 'my steering went out' when an accident occurs. BUT NOW, they can think "WELL MAYBE".
Toyota drivers can blame it on the phantom Toyota gremlin which is in EVERY Toyota on the road today THANKS to Ray La Hood and his Department of Transportation!
