Make AVI

With this update to medit, you can now create AVI files with the simple click of a button! The  button!

Prior to deciding to create an AVI file, you should run the mgraphic animation to be sure that the animation display is how you want it to appear in an AVI file. Simply Run mGraphics Animation and adjust the view to the view you want displayed in the AVI file. Then simply click on the  button.

Selecting the  button simply reruns mgraphics animation and creates bmps of each frame and loads the following dialog:

On this main screen, you see a number of controls for the animation:

STOP – To stop the creation of bmps

Set Start – to set the start time for the animation

Set End – to set the end time for the animation

Frame Rate – normal ‘real time’ playback speed is 33 frames per second. If you want to create an animation in slow or fast mode, simply select a different Frame Rate. When you slid the Frame rate bar you will notice that the duration of the animation changes to reflect the slow or fast motion. CAUTION: creating slow motion AVI file can increase the size of the AVI file dramatically.

Manual Scroll Control – use this slider bar to move forward and backward on the animation. This can be used to scroll to a desired start and end point and used in conjunction with the Set Start and Set End buttons. This can be used for example if you only want to show a short sequence during a reconstruction, like the collision.

Select input files – You can select any sequence of files to create an AVI. Use this button to browse to any location where a sequence of AVI exists which you would like to make into an AVI.

Save Frame – individual frames can be saved with this button

Output Tools - Once the animation loads and passes through the extent of the animation, and you have selected an optional start and end times, etc  (the total animation is created in real time by default) the next step to creating an AVI is to select the Output Tools button. This will bring up the Output Tools dialog from which you create the AVI animation.
