msmac Animation program

The following steps are provided for a quick sample of the graphical animation outputs of the smac Animation (mGraphics) program.

Select the medit Run menu with either the mouse or the keyboard shortcut <Alt><R>.

A dropdown menu appears.

Select the msmac Animation menu item with either the mouse or by pressing the letter <A>.

You will be presented with the Run dialog box. This contains the various options for running the smac Animation (mGraphics) Animation program.  The items listed are for your information only.

Click on OK to begin msmac Animation (mGraphics)

You are now running smac Animation (mGraphics).

The initial screen displays the two vehicle in their initial position with additional information displayed on the bottom of the screen.

Press the <Space Bar> to begin the animation.

You are now running smac Animation (mGraphics) in continuous Loop mode.  Note that it continually displays the animation.

To stop the animation at any time, press the <Space Bar> again or the <Enter> key.

You can then press the <space bar> in succession to toggle the start/stop replay of the animation or use the <Enter> key to walk through the animation frame by frame.

The graphical display screen can also be interactively changed by simple keyboard commands such as Page Up, Page Down, and the arrow keys or by right clicking the mouse to produce a ‘remote’ dialog box from which you can adjust the screen graphical image.

Please see the m-smac Graphics and Animation Manual for a list of the smac Animation (mGraphics) Keyboard and ‘remote’ dialog box commands currently available.

The keyboard commands will function whether the animation is in static mode (having pressed the <Enter> key) or while in continuous animation mode  (produced by pressing the <Space bar> key while in static mode).

Note that the display for some of the commands (e.g., rotate origin, follow veh display commands, etc.)  can and will be affected by the arrow keys and PgUp/PgDown keys to better center the display.

After you have tested the affects of the various keys,

Press <Esc> to return to medit .

You may have to hit <ESC> twice, once to stop the animation (if in continuous playback mode) and a second time to exit graphics and return to medit.

Please also see the demo My First Project and the section on Running msmac Animation for additional detailed information.
