Setting the Target Impact and Rest Positions

When you perform a msmac simulation, you are attempting to match evidence of the impact and rest positions in an motor vehicle collision. In msmac we have added a simple procedure to set the target impact and rest positions.

In msmac, input cards 86 and 87 are used to input the target impact (86) and rest (87) positions for vehicle 1 and vehicle 2. (see ) To properly apply the smacthp procedure, you need to run your simulation at 0.001 seconds during the collision interaction. So you could change card 1, field 6 (DTPRN0 – the print interval) to 0.001 seconds.

If you have a dataset you would like to include target impact and/or rest positions, simply use the medit insert card with helper key and or the manual insert by card/seq.
