Starting medit

The following are instructions for starting and running medit.

Click on the McHenry Edit Environment icon:

OR

From the Start menu, select MEDIT32

OR

Select Run in the Start Menu and Enter

<C:\MSOFT\MEDIT32.EXE>

or browse to the file with the Browse button of the Run command, an then Press the <Enter> key.

 

The medit Environment is opened and your screen should look similar to Figure 53

    Please NOTE: If this is your first time starting up medit32, the initial screen will be grey. The reason for this is because there is no prior project or file which medit32 can load automatically. So simply open a project!

    Select project Menu->Open->(Open – From DEMOS folder) and select My First Project.

    Now the smac input file opens and the grid is populated. Be sure to take a quick look at customizing medit display since there are different font sizes and colors which can be chosen.

Normally when you first start up medit or when you open a project in medit , the program opens the m-smac input file. (For projects with more than one m-smac input file, it will open the m-smac input file most recently read or written.) Therefore the normal startup view of medit is Figure 53.
