Last week we started looking at the possibility of using cloud scan data for our 3D Simulation
msmac3D
Here is the current status:
- For the release we will allow users to import the raw xyz file into graphics (or any similar export format)
- Generally we will have you export from your scanner as XYZ or compatible text format).
All points will be imported to memory)
- Users will then set limits on all three axis.
- Only that portion selected will have a terrain surface created and shown as a grid surface
The grid surface will then be used for the msmac3D simulation terrain
- User will have option to select vehicles and other objects in the scan and to ignore them from terrain.
- In order to get our release out quickly we will add in an update support to show other items like building and full color
