Printing forum posts

Post by kenb »

Oct 2015: I've just noticed this older post on Printing.
The instructions to Print have been simplified!
you no longer need to copy and paste to Word as graphics are now included in the Print View
see the updated instructions How to Print a Topic

MSI

I would like to print some of the forum posts. When I use the print link on the upper right hand of the screen the resulting print job does not include any graphics that may have been in the post. Is there a setting that can be changed that would allow me to print the graphics (without hitting the print button in the browser, which would add a lot of clutter to the document).

Thanks -- Ken

Hi, Ken -

I've researched the PHPBB KB and from what I see there, the forum package does not support that.

Sorry ....

I did some testing and found a work-around.

1) Hit print so that the print preview screen pops up.
2) Copy the entire text in the preview screen.
3) Paste into MS Word.
4) For some reason the images appear and the url's are active.

It's all FM to me.

Ken - you're right, it does ! I had had a similar thought this morning in researching your question, and I tried it using Wordpad, which did not work. However, MS-Word ( 2007 here ) does !

Another good catch 'n share ! Thanks !
