Feb 25, 2015: Today we performed some quick Benchmark tests of the msmac3D 3D simulation program.
- This is a followup to our Feb 2014 msmac3D benchmark tests and show a dramatic improvement.
The simulations in 3D run 2-4 times faster than Real time meaning a 10 sec simulation runs in around 3 seconds!
These new benchmarks were performed on a Lenovo Y50 notebook computer running Win 8.1 64bit.
We have not yet fully optimized or parallelized our simulations but this should give you a good idea of the speed of our computations.
And of course 2D runs significantly faster than 3D, however
- msmac3D 3D simulations run at 3X faster than real time!
- So to simulate a 10 sec collision or rollover accident requires ONLY around 3 seconds! And performance will improve when we optimize the code!
