Feb 25, 2015: Today we performed some quick Benchmark tests of the msmac3D 3D simulation program.
This is a followup to our Feb 2014 msmac3D benchmark tests and show a dramatic improvement.
The simulations in 3D run 2-4 times faster than Real time meaning a 10 sec simulation runs in around 3 seconds!
These new benchmarks were performed on a Lenovo Y50 notebook computer running Win 8.1 64bit.
We have not yet fully optimized or parallelized our simulations but this should give you a good idea of the speed of our computations.
And of course 2D runs significantly faster than 3D, however
msmac3D 3D simulations run at 3X faster than real time!
So to simulate a 10 sec collision or rollover accident requires ONLY around 3 seconds! And performance will improve when we optimize the code!
